Promotions and readership applications
Procedures for promotion to professorship
The department must approve applications for promotions before the matters are forwarded to the Academic Appointments Board (LFN). The head of the department appoints two examiners, who are to review the application in collaboration with the head of the division and the director of studies concerned. The assessment shall include a consideration of the department’s teaching and research needs within the subject field, and the funding opportunities. The department then either approves (and the matter is forwarded to the faculty) or rejects the application. The approval from the department shall include statements explaining how a possible promotion would lead to a change in duties (change of accounts).
Procedures for promotion to a senior lectureship
The head of the division and an examiner draw up a statement upon agreement with the head of the department. The director of studies will write a certificate of teaching expertise that the head of the department will sign and then forward to the faculty.
